I like some British cars (BMW) but I do not know much about French cars. I think Renault is a French car brand. I have no idea about quality.
BMW os German car. French cars are: Citroen, Peugeot and Renault. All of them are great, quality is good and they are cheaper than eg. German cars (German cars are ugly too).

Best of? You mean now? What class? All new French cars are ok, but I think that new C5: http://www.c5.citroen.com/en/ will be a new quality for Citroen. It's stylish, comfortable, modern, so it should be succes. For current cars Cit C4, C6, Pug 308, Renault Megane, Laguna 2 are good too.
I really love Citröen and Peugeot, but they are too expensive here. They aren't affordable for a common working person. But if I had enough money, I would have one.
Renault is cheaper, good looking and widely sell. Moreover, there's a local factory here in my country, so it's a good option.

Citroen & Peugeot expensive? oO They are cheaper than all VW, Opel, Ford stuff. With the same price You have bigger engine, more additional equipement. In what country do You live?
MY 2 PEUGEOTS had no rust at all - my 2 fords rusted just as I looked at them!

I dont like renault much, I really hate the new megane, the laguna is ok.

Those cars isn't anything to be desired, they are a way of moving. U won’t see any passion on any of them, cheep, simple and common, a typical object with 4 wheels. 4 example Peugeot 206, it's I think the most known model of French car

In Europe it's commonly known that French cars are not the best cars.
In fact they are one of the most unrelaible cars from europe.
The last ADAC report tell's us that the last year the german cars were the most relaible cars.
The number one was the BMW X3.

You are silly man. Obviously cars such as Astra III, Golf V, Hyundai i30 are beautiful But don't discuss about tastes man. Taste is so subjective so it can't be point in discussion.I dont like French cars.. They are dont excite me... Renault Symbol is very ugly

what they are like to drive?
French are not bad on this part and some of them are very good
how good do they look?
most french cars are butt ugly
what are they like to repair?
french are always one of the worst designed cars to work on that I have had to work on.
on my scale they get 1 out of 3 which equals rubbish cars

The Citroen DS19 was the most beautiful car ever designed, in my opinion!

they were manufactured between 1955 and 1975....truly a stunning looking thing, for that era!

On those times Citroen DS was like from science fiction movie, like car from the future. In '60 car manufacturers was doing cars, like:
Opel Olympia
BMW Isetta
FIAT
Compare it to DS, with self-leveling hydro suspension, semi-auto transmission, plastic (!) roof, directional headlights.
Citroen was making DS for 20 years, that's proof why this car was from the future

I think that as an American I'm coming from the wrong historical perspective to truly appreciate Citroen's 'goddess.' Maybe Europeans can't really get as excited as Americans can about '57 Chevys and Thunderbirds.
