PHPBB3 HOW DO I ENTER THINGS IN TO THE DATABASE SETTINGS

jtayl153
KK im going insane here

1) how do i disable the register_globals, phpBB3 works better if this is disabled

2)It Says in the database settings:

Database Type: MySQL with MySQLi Extension
MySQL
and SQLite
I have left it as MySQL with MySQLi Extension, IS THIS RIGHT?

Then it asks for Database Hostname or DSN?
What do I do here??

Then it asks for a Database Server Port?
I've left this blank?

Then it asks for a database name.
What do I put here?

Database username?
Do I use my cpanel username?

Then it asks for a password?
Do I use my cpanel Password?

Then it says Prefix for tables in database.
Errrr.................what?

Could someone give me help please.

1. Add a line in your .htaccess file and put the following in it:

Code:
php_flag register_globals off

2. I assume so, but for this question, wait for an answer from someone more experienced with phpBB.

3.
Code:
localhost
should work.

4. Yes I don't think you need to input any port.

5. The name of your database of course. Create one under Database Management in your panel.

6. No, you use the username for the database you created.

7. No, you use the password for the database you created.

8. This simply means the name before the tables. (ex a prefix of phpBB would be applied to all tables, so for example, each table would have phpBB_[table name] as its name)

I answered them as best I can. However I wasn't able to answer them as detailed as I'd like to seeing as I've never worked with a phpBB.
