theres a few ways
maybe you have to change your DB and tables and cols collation to binary then to utf_general

or in the export options choose utf-8m and
rebuild your db but using utf8 and then import.

this only works with MySQl 4.1 ++

yes i know that but how do i do that?
I later realised that phpmyadmin allows us to do that.
