The laws of probability II: a test

ocalhoun
I've written a script to test the notion that one can effect the probability of something happening.
While this very different in method from the previous experiments I've done, it is similar in what it does.
It takes less than 30 seconds to do this, so please give it a try: http://www.omho.net/lucky/

I like it. I did it twice; the first time i had a negative luck factor Crying or Very sad however on the second go i had a positive Very Happy .

What are you trying to show in this experiment (or are you trying to find something, or prove a theory). I'd be quite interested to see how this pans out over time.

You did it twice!?!
That shouldn't be possible!
Did you do it by just reloading the page, or using the back button?

A little of both, actually. I've already proven this theory to myself, but I want more data, and it would be nice to have substantial proof of it for others.

u can do it any number of times in firefox...

^But each try is stored in a table that uses the user's IP address as the key. If you somehow do it twice, it should just write over the previous try.

I used the back button. And the percentages i got on both times were consistent with the data shown (i.e. the average), so it couldn't have been anyone else.

Oh, and a quick message to everyone else. It may not prove anything (well, to an extent it does) but dont be so critical. It must have taken some degree of skill and knowledge to create such a program without external assistance, something which i'm sure many of us (me included) could not do.

Nicely done ocalhoun. I like it a lot.

^Any php coder would be able to do it, probably better than I would myself.
