file_get_contents Not Activated?

Ratmaster
Why is the PHP function file_get_contents not activated? I am running a phpBB hosting thing on my account and making forums requires file_get_contents to be activated. I am not going to keep the thing on the account, I only have it on there until my other hosting account (somewhere else) is back up, and I am trying to see if I can edit it if some mods will work.

P.S. I think my Disk Space bar is broken. It does not show the right amount of space I have because I think I may have put on about 40-50 MB.

You can update the disk-space usage in the statistics window. There should be an update link somewhere close to the disk usage section.
Ratmaster
Yeah, my disk usage updated by itself; I did not know how long it would take.

It works on server 2, you just can't use a URL, you need to use a path.
Ratmaster
Well is there a way to fix that? I need it for two things:

Creating Forums (or activating them)
Getting Updates

Then, is there a way to make this work with the limitation?

Code:
file_get_contents('http://'.$domain.'/'.$script_path.$slash.'forum2.php?key='.$key.'&access='.$access);

I know it's possible, I just don't know how.
rvec
instead of 'http://'.$domain.'/ try the path. something like /home/yourusername/domains/'.$domain.'/public_html/
Ratmaster
No, it doesn't work. (yes I adjusted it to my username)

Is it possible that off-server locations can be activated? Or limited?
