phpMyAdmin - MySQL Ext error...

Diablosblizz
Okay, I am 100% sure that at least somebody out there reading this got this error with phpMyAdmin before, so here it goes:

I attempted to install phpMyAdmin on my Windows 2003 Server machine, running Apache 2.0.59 and PHP 5. When I attempt to go to phpMyAdmin, I get this error:

Quote:
Cannot load mysql extension. Please check your PHP configuration.

I have uncommented the MySQL extention in php.ini, but still no luck. I have put libmysql.dll in C:\Windows.1\ (I was told to do that, and my Windows folder is called Windows.1) and nothing.

I don't know what to do, and I am giving up. Also, there is NO section for MySQL in my phpinfo file. I have also restarted apache, which I guess is the same as restarting Windows (I am hoping to stay away from that)

Does anybody know how I can fix this? Thanks!

I viewed over this, I put the libmysql.dll into my system32 folder on the computer, restarted apache and nothing happened. Same old error with phpmyadmin.

Though, now, MySQL is starting to pop up in my phpinfo file, but still no specific category on it.

I think there are 2 extensions you have to activate in php.ini file. I don't remember the other one but i remember i got this same error in windows XP and i got it sorted out.
