I am not a gem trader, but I have a huge interest in Ammolite. Do you know of this gem and do you sell them? My fiance and I would love to purchase some to be mounted for our wedding rings, but we wanted to be able to personally inspect the stones. Since Ammolite can only be obtained in a few establishments far from where I live(Kentucky) we have not been able to do this.

I have heard that this stone is a lot like soapstone in hardness. If this is true then it may not make very robust jewelry. What are your thoughts?

I primarly want to know if this gem is durable enough for a ring that you would wear everyday like a wedding ring. I've heard it has the consistency of soapstone and IMO that would be too brittle. I have never touched it so I can't tell. What do you think?
