New Site.. Require Advice..

Hammy
I'm looking to make a a site for our local Pub.. Yes a Pub, you all know them.

I'd like to ask, what would be the best CMS to use for a real simple look and warm feel.

Create static pages, but with back-end to edit them.

Thanks,
benjad
Best bet will be to browse here: http://www.opensourcecms.com/

and see what meets your needs. This assumes that the server it will be hosted on will offer php/mysql.

Yet another idea (that many around here do), is to just create a myspace page. A little less professional, yes, but when the locals put you on their friend list, free advertising far and wide.

Thanks,

I would reccomend either phpWebSite (the default template is pretty easy to customise IMO), or my own CMS InfroPortal, which is really simple, but you'll need to have the front page be a news and updates section (well...if you just use one entry you shouldn't have much problem).

With a little tinkering both will have some nice feels to them.

But, if you just want a premade mass-produced-style cookie cutter template I gues there's always Joomla which you can use. It has a lot of templates.
