Windows XP Media Center.

Gushe
Hello everyone!

I have a question about this Windows XP Media Center.

Can you boot immediatly in the full screen media center?
So that you immediatly can watch your movies or listen to your music..?

Or is there another sort of OS which can boot immediatly in Full Screen Media Center? Smile

Thanx in Advance,

I do not have firsthand experience with Windows XP Media Center but I am quite sure that Windows XP Media Center does not offer immediate booting. I suspect most people leave their media center PC's on 24 hours a day.

As Windows Media Center is not more than a XP pro with some media extensions, it always need to boot first before you can do anything else (like for example watch a DVD)

Windows Media Centre itself is not quick-boot however it can be used as a basis for quick booting media systems.

My laptop came with effectively two boot options (which were switched depending on which "on" button you used) and one booted normally and the other booted a stripped down media centre app.

I decided it wasn't worth saving 20 seconds on boot though and just reformatted and used the disc space for something useful.
