Who Hosting a Website

Possum
Hi

Is there a way to find out who is hosting a URL

Cheers Possum..

Go to http://centralops.net/co/DomainDossier.aspx, enter the domain name and hit go. You will get back an ip-address. Now enter this ip-address and hit go again. You will get the 'canonical name', which is the host at which the domain is hosted.

There is a website which simplifies all this - http://www.whoishostingthis.com

I used it sometime, and it works very well.

That is a nice tool, but it does something different. It tells the company which is hosting the site, and 'my' method tells you on which server a site is hosted. Both can be handy to know. Smile

BUT, I can't seem to get how to use the link you suggested properly. I enter a domain, I get its IP, and I enter it in that same field I entered the domain, right?
MrBlueSky
Yes, that's correct.
