im glad im the first to express how i feel about Atlanta falcons QB mike vick (yes! still employed Atlanta falcons QB Mike Vick). He is a stand up guy to me, because he is accepting the consequences for his actions and is not taking a person along on his trip with him, just because he feels like what he is going through is a position he feels like he is supposed to be in. He will be back in ALANTA FALCONS UNIFORM SOON!
mike vick
2009 he will be back - I bet he will be positioned as possibly a CB, mabe WR rather than a QB - look for him to ease back into the game - In 2-3 years there will be no need for a quarterback in the NFL that has more rushing yards than some other RB's in the game - The QB flash, the QB excitement will be lost in Atlanta but at least they will find out if Vick truly has the Heart to even play the game anymore.

Is this the comedy forum?
He lied about his involvement, then lied some more. He only admitted what he had done once the other two guys plead guilty and implicated him. Then he apologized to everone and told us all how he has changed and would be a good boy. Then he get caught smoking marujana. His own lawyers complained about how uncooporative he is. He wore sneakers to court. The guy has absolutely no clue.
Two years in prison might help, but I doubt it.
Anyone who tortures dogs like that deserves to be punished. They should lock in in a room with a bunch of those dogs, then when they are done with him they could leave him there a bit so they can use him as a pee post.
Mike Vic is a punk thug.
And, as part of his plea agreement he is a SNITCH now too.
He will be lucky to find a job playing arena ball.

Uh, I have no respect for him. He shouldn't have done that crap to begin with.
vick is a clown and he will never make a successful return to the nfl... it will be a Ricky Williams type of road for him...
People care more for Dog then they do for humans. I think thats crazy. Give the guy a break. I dont like what he did. We all make stupid mistakes this one has cost him a whole lot. I always feel that if you don't like killing animals then don't eat any more KFC, Red lobsters, or any fast food. Just become a vegetarian.
Yep stand up guy alright, he tortured and killed innocent animals for sport, What a great bloke!

Are you ignorant or retarded? He not only killed them, he TORTURED them for no other reason than his own amusement....Its in no way related to people eating animals

Oh yes, let's give him a break. He is a human, after all; he shouldn't be locked in a cell. That's not nice. Nevermind that he tortured and electrocuted dogs; he just made a mistake. Many mistakes, many times over. But we should care about him because he is human
Is he really human? Normal humans don't electrocute and torture dogs for amusement and because they didn't fight and hurt another dog enough. He knew what he was doing was wrong, hence him denying it. Yet he did it anyways. He doesn't deserve a break. He deserves a nice prison sentence, and, if it was up to me, some of the electrocution he tortured those dogs with.
I agree with mattyj: you are retarded. What he did has nothing to do with eating animals. If you torture the animals you eat before killing them, then you need to be tortured. As humans, we have to treat the other animals (don't forget: we are also animals) humanely, and not cruelly.
Go put a flower in your hair, you bleeding heart scumbag.
his main way of saying this is " its part of my culture"
so if i dressed as a KKK and wore a suit n killed him and used "its part of my culture"
...what's the difference? murdering anything but insects is still murder...

This is a pretty grotesque story..
screw vic. Someone should tie him up and beat him. How can you support someone who physically abuses dogs, animals,e tc
Vick deserves to go to jail. Seriously, why would you do that to animals. They don't deserve that and thats just cruel. He should go to jail for longer and never play in the NFL again. He sets a horrible example for young people like me.
And what's even more sad is that he is just one who got caught. There are many more Vicks out there doing the same thing. Hopefully they'll listen up stop.
did anyone notice the opening poster hasnt commented since he realises everyone thinks Vick should rot in jail?
I wonder if he realized how moronic his statement was?

what a shocker. i wonder if he shares the bottom bunk with his better half, Vick
Being from the UK, unbelievable a talent like that was not looked after by his club, someone must of known? and could of stopped it before it started to go full scale.
Money counts and i would say he will be back, he will train for 2 years in prison and most probably play for a team after he keeps his shape in there.
Film Deal, book deal and a Superbowl ring all await him by 2012

53 pit bulls is a cultural thing?
Like it or not, Vick was reinstated by NFL Commissioner Goodell today... I'm kind of shocked. He was only banned from five games. There are some conditions and he'll have to be very well behaved. Maybe the five game suspension had less to do with the dogfighting and more to do with the drugs and gambling implications during the investigation.. There is also a new league coming out and rumors of Vick playing for the Miami franchise of the UFL were circulating... maybe the NFL did not want Vick to give the new league something that noteworthy to promote.
what an absolute joke...That is all i have to say, the NFL is a joke, Vick should still be rotting in jail, but hes out and the NFL decides to let this man earn Millions of dollars again playing football?
Any team brave enough to hire Vic, better be ready for a strom of backlash.
There's a couple of possibilities. The Buffalo Bills are desperate to fill seats. The San Fransisco 49'ers have a head coach who tolerate any nonsense, and the Raiders are very unpredictable. I think it will happen.
The Dallas Cowboys is one of those things that you either love em or hate em like Dennis Rodman or Dale Erhnhart. He needs sent to THUNDERDOME repeatedly.
The new Seattle Seahawks head coach was Mike Vick's coach for 3 years in Atlanta. They got along very well then... So my pick for Vick is Seattle.
It finally happened... Michael Vick signed a one year, 1.6 million dollar contract with a second year option with the Philadelphia Eagles today. It's not surprising that Vick signed with a team - but it is surprising that he signed with the Eagles (two good QBs already). He can't play until October - probably against the Raiders. For those of you unfamiliar with the NFL, 1.6 million is peanuts. The story is no longer if when or where he will sign, it is now : Will he stay out of any and all trouble? Will he play or sit the bench? What will the backlash be? We'll see how much power PETA has now.
The Eagles are now the most hated team in the NFL, possibly in all sports. This is going to be thrown in their face every game they play.
for the money.... what a great still to have vick... esp since mcnabb is getting old
I agree! Didn't they learn from the whole TO thing? Don't they realize that players can be a disease to your team. I think it will work out better b/c McNabb won't get injured this year. Go Giants!
Very interesting the way sports crosses over with the law....
Some would argue that things should be dealt with within the sport... but when the interaction is between a sportsperson and a member of the public, I think they have to be shown to not be above the law.
Having said that, once they have served their time, then they should be able to return to normal life.

I read this today in Yahoo sports through AP:
This was a home game in Philadelphia. No backlash there... and not much anywhere else I can see. I'd be interested to see any stories of backlash or protest anyone has seen.
