Use of Server Side Includes on frihost

shenyl
Is there any consideration if I want to use server side includes?

On IIS server, the start page must be named as .shtm ot .shtml, than the Web server will pass the request to the ssinc.dll for processing the server side includes tags.

On frihost server - can anyone tell me, if there is any special considerations.

Thanks.

I don't believe you can use SSI at all on Frihost.
MrBlueSky
Yes, you can use SSI at frihost. The files must be named .shtml.

(See http://<yourdomain>:2222/CMD_HANDLERS?action=system&domain=<yourdomain> for installed Apache handlers if you are logged in to directadmin)

Thank you SpellcasterDX.

MrBlueSky, I managed to get into the Apache User handler, can you help what should I add as the user handler - there is no pull down menu to guide me.

Thanks and appreciate all your help.

With best regards.

There is a link to see the installed Apcahe Handler, clicking it shows there is server-parser for extension .shtml

Sorry for the earlier message, as I was so use to context level help - and expected it to be there.

Thanks MrBlueSky, I saw it.

I have added the following as User Installed Apcahe handler, based on the system wide installed handlers.

Handler: server-parsed extension: .shtm

And the Admin panel accepted it.

Can anyone comment if this is OK?

Thanks - that means I can use .shtm and .shtml for SSI?
MrBlueSky
Yes, that should work.
shenyl
Thanks for the assurance, will need time to test it, as I am presently working on something else.

With best regards
