Has anyone heard of china's very own processor? it's called something like dragon chip and it has been on sale in china for few years at least. the system that uses this processor is running on modified linux. Perhaps it's only for china's very own market
Dragon Chip
I had never heard of this before.. but after seeing this post, I Googled up and then found that this news is at least 4 years old! And in these 4 years, there are no further news items indicating its popularity and spread.
It also seems that the developers teamed up with Transmeta which has been down in the dumps ever since it went IPO.. So, am not sure where the whole product line is heading, and even as to whether it is still in production.. It will be interesting to see if anyone has any further updates on this (preferably from within China itself!)
