As a new memberhere I'm surprized that there is less value placed on posting in the Jokes section here, as there are no points awarded for those posts. I think it great to read these and enjoy the section, granted the responses are not very enlighting. Perhaps points could be given to the poster, max 1 per day or something ?
Jokes section
It would be nice, but the problem is that most of the jokes are just copied and pasted from other websites. Frihost is all about original content, and it isn't fair if someone posts an hour long article in the General Chat forum, and gets 5 points for it, but someone posts 2 jokes and gets 10 points for it in 4 minutes.
In real life jokes are funnier in context rather than rehearsed two-liners. Nothing stops you from replying to a thread in the other forums with a humourous post.

err...we DO have a jokes forum. As for giving out points I don't think it's a very good idea as was previously stated, they are all copy/paste items.
Just my opinion.
People copy-paste stuff in other forum, too, but it always leads into discussions.
