Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf has finally decided to step down from his position and leave his uniform today, after a nine-year reign as Army Chief. It is to be noted that he (Pervez Musharraf) came to power in a coup during 1999 by removing the post and powers of the then Prime Minister - Nawaz Sharif. Pervez Mushrraf's close and trusted, ISI chief General Ashfaq Pervez Kiyani, will be sworn in as a civilian President on Thursday.
Later - in a separate Interview, Sharif said, "The circumstances at the moment are not conducive for free and fair elections. The ground realities have to change before we hold polls.” Former Minister - Benazir Bhutto (Pakistan People's Party leader) is also looking some kind of cooperation with Nawaz Sharif.
