MSDOS commands through the internet?

Diablosblizz
Hey, I was wondering if I am able to send MSDOS commands (start program.exe) to a different computer through the internet?

I am running a apache server, and I want to be able to kill the server (there is a .bat file that I will use) without getting off my chair. Razz My friend said that it is impossible, but I am just checking.

Many thanks.

it will be a serious security flaw if you can run dos command thru a web server.

why don't you use remote desktop?

Use remote desktop, or VNC

http://www.realvnc.com/products/download.html

(the version that is free, is probably able to cover all your needs)

I think that this is the easiest/safest way to do so...

Connecting via terminal could also be a good idea

get tightvnc

http://www.tightvnc.com

free edition of realvnc got security issue and they never bother to release the updated version for free version.

VNC is actually for remote graphical control. If you only want to use text commands, use shell access (SSH) ...

I am using Remote Desktop for now, I was just wondering if this was possible.

Thanks for the ideas.
