From the recently concluded one day series against Australia and the ongoing series against Pakistan, it is quite evident that Cricket is no more a Gentleman's game. Players have made it a habit of using abusive language, when they cannot stop their oppositions from playing well and this doesnt argur well for the future of the game.
Cricket is losing its Gentleman Tag .....
I think it must be there this shows the players agression and passion for the game. Also it brings much of exitement to the field. People watching on TV sets feels much lively when they see such exchange of words or expressions between the players. Always a comentry cannot keep them exited.
But at the other end I will agree to this that this is loosig the gentelmen tag to cricket. There should be a limit to this.

You are probably right but I think cricket is boring so I do not really care
Shame, cricket is such a great sport. But that ridiculousness not long ago of the Pakistanis refusing to come out after tea time because some call had not gone their way....seems things like that are bringing the game into disrepute. Unfortunate.
Cricket is one of my favourite sports, but it is a bit soft at times...a bit of agression cant be bad for the game

Think there's plenty of aggression when brett lee and co come thundering down at close fo 100mph and then haydn and co smash one or three through the covers - trouble is, on the telly it doesn't look as hard as it really is. And I guess when warne is keeping the batsmen tied down at one end you don't see a lot of the aggression - but I don't think cricket is about that and really the game just isn't designed (IMHO) for the sort of argy bargy you get in footy or soccer.
I think the problem is actually with your countrymen I'm sorry to say who seem to have invented the practise of sledging - unfurtunately, its proving effective (certainly had an effect on some of the lesser quality poms! which is why its gaining iwdespread use). So was bodyline effective as well and it was banned - should do the same with sledging

The Australians "INVENTED" sleding did they?
cricker is realy boring game man. i dont even like it
. and recent news abt it indian defeat pakistan in 1st test match and pakistan also has lost one day series.

It is part of the competitive game. A little bit aggressive behaviour is good to watch
I used to hate cricket since I thought it was a boring game with only two people playing (one bowler and one batsman) and the rest just stands around waiting for the ball. But recently, I've starting enjoying the game since I've learned the game and started watching it. It's not a bad sport afterall. But the recent sledging and abusive language is just nonsense. Stop abusing your opponent just because you can't beat them in the game. And if someone abuses you, just ignore that person and get on with the game. It's not a kid's game.
Wish people in America gave a damn about the sport. I'm a huge baseball nut, but it's impossible to organize the 18 people needed to play a game. Cricket requires way fewer, but if you ever suggest playing cricket people laugh in your face.
my favourite game is also cricket only, but the bad words is to be avioded by the players, they have to think that they are went for playing only not to talk the bad words... but all on a sudden they are getting the cleaver and getting angry.. whats the reason of this....
but india gave a big kick to austrialia yesterday by wining

A lil bit of sledging in Cricket is OK as per the new ICC rules...
