Hi, I am building a website at the moment. I think about how to get a good hosting service. But it's a completely private project of my own, so I don't want to invest any money.
So I thought about earning some money in the internet, without working. Maybe with the site itself. But the site will only be visited by me and my friends.
I heared about making money in the internet, but I that's all I know. So I want you to make a list wich methods exists to earn money. Maybe you can give a short description of the principle and some links were I can find services or more information.

There are a few ways of making money with your website. The first is to place other peoples links on your page. This requires that you actually have people coming to your website. After you have established yourself and have many quality articles, this should not be a problem. Secondly, you could use Google or similar text based ads. These tend to be less intrusive, and dont bother the user as much. You might only get $3 a month, but that should be enough to cover most domain names.
You just cannot earn money by doing nothing. No one pays you for free. You can try filling up surveys and watch ads. This might help you to earn some money. Another way it to keep ads on your website. But if you wish to earn you need to get a lot of traffic to your website. And that is not an easy job.
It's not that easy to make money online. You cannot just sit doing nothing and make money. You have to work hard to create your website, then again work hard to drive visitors to your website and then if you succeeded you can place ads on your pages and make some bucks online.

Trust him when he says its hard to get visitors to your site, Biome has been around for almost 2 years (if you include before I used frih) and we are just now getting to a point where we have a nice chunk of members. | ashish2005 wrote: |

Once you have hard work, it can be easy to make money online.
I suggest you use AdSense, if anything. I make money off of that. The majority of my online money is made selling graphics on http://www.myspacepros.com if you have good graphics skills, you could try doing that. Some people earn $1,000+ in a day there. I myself have made quite a lot.
So again, making money online is not that hard at all... in my opinion. Depends on how you want to make it, how long do you plan on making it, etc.Its good that you start a new website...To make money the beat thing to do is to do advertising on your website...Try using Google Adsense or Adbrite...When users click on the links you get paid for the clicks...
Other ways to make money may be filling out forms,taking part in surveys(though they dont get you much money...) and so on...So best of luck for you in tj\he way of money making...

If the website will be visited only by yourself and your friends, it would be difficult to make money off adsense, or anything else for that matter, because for most of such programs you need traffic. Try expanding your reach. Today, it would be a good idea to make a blog, if you have the time to dedicate to it. Blogs are also the hottest area to make money now too.
Of course...it isn't that simple. You could use Adsense on your blogs. You could sell text links. You could write paid reviews. The list goes on. If you make the blog and present it here, I am sure we'd be able to give you better ideas on how to monetize it.
On other ways to make money online, there are many. Why don't you try affiliate marketing? Tough competition, but it might pay off. 
first you need the more number of visitors, then only you have the posibility to earn> so first you publish the webpage and get more number of visitors then apply for the google adsense and other affiliated earning webpages and earn the money
Just like what tamilparks says, to earn money from your website you will need to bring traffics to your site first. Whatever monetizing methode you (will) use, you will earn nothing without a good amount of traffics to your site.
You can monetize your site using PPC networks like adsense, adbrite, etc, where you will get paid everytime your visitors click the ads. You can also promote some affiliate links to a certain product or service that related to your site topic. You will get paid everytime someone buys the product/service trough your affiliate link.
You can also try Paid Review, mostly works for blog, and aslo sell text link trough textlinkads or similar network. Usually you will need a high PR site, at least try to get PR3 for this purpose.
