Birmingham lost to aston villa 2-1. Im very sad, i hate loosing this game. Means so much to the people of birmingham.
But keep right on! im still a bluenose and cant wait until april for revenge.
Donning my flame-proof suit....
For crying out loud, nobody died or anything. Your team lost a game. There it is. With all due respect, you guys across the pond take this football thing way too seriously.
YEs It was indeed a bad day for football lovers especially the people of Birmingham. BUt It happens in sports and we have to take int in the right spirit.
Don't worry. We have 364 (365) bad days for sport left
. Enjoy them!
A bit of an overly melodramatic topic title. Some soccer team lost ONE game. Big deal. Doesn't sound like it was a palyoff game or anything of the sort. Maybe it's a sad day in Birmingham, but not in sports. I mean, come on.
And besides, I don't think the other team would see that as a 'bad day'.

both teams suck anyways,, come on man utd.. all the way... u can do it again!!!
ps... when was the last time either of these teams appeared in top 5??
Like the others have said, stop being so melodramatic
it was ONE game for YOUR team...
The world of sports will go on even if you dont (hint)
"A bad day in the world of sports" This make shock you but there are people out there that could care less about soccer (me being one of them) and this to me means nothing in the world of sports
Its actually a good day inthe world of sports coz the Detroit Pistons won, St Kilda re-drafted Fraser Gehrig, Dallas Cowboys won (yesterday)
So yeh...Not a bad day at all if you ask me
Sorry to hear that your team lost it's darts tourney.
Or was it a cricket match?

I think he's referring to a game they call 'football' but I might be wrong - I'm really confused, because when I watch one of these 'football' matches on TV here the ball isn't oval and they have hockey nets instead of goal posts at either end. EVeryone seems to go to great pains to not handle the ball, except for the 2 geezers standing near the said hocket nets. I little bit like irish breakdancing (you know where they dance but they're not allowed to use their arms or hands). Perhaps the game has the same origin as the dance - ie someone banned sport at some time but thought that sport is defined by using your hands and if you don't do that then its not a sport - I don;t know -just musing
It looks remarkably like a game that everyone else calls 'soccer' don;t know if its the same game though, because at the end of them all the players drive off in ferraris to some really tacky tasteless mansions based in essex - they never do that in soccer thats for sure...
It may have been Lawn Bowling.
I think it's a popular sport.
