Time travel is possible but only to future not to the past

yagnyavalkya
I started my time travel to future when I was born and now I have travelled the same number of years in future as old as I am
hence it is clear that time travel is possible only that to reach 3 years in future it will take exactly 3 years
but travel to the past is not possible at present
Hows that?

Time never stops. It travels toward future. But we cannot travel faster than the time. The future is not fixed, thus we cannot see the exact future. But the past has already passed. Thus the past remains same. We just need accurate measures to see past.

Time is not a reality as we think....
The existence of something, even our life, is for the moment and everything which was present here, will be here for ever... Time travel is not a myth.

It has never been yesterday...

It will never be tomorrow...

It is always TODAY

Good, going philosophical.... Tell admin to move this topic to philosophy forum. Let's discuss further

well... in a fourth dimension... you can see all the time, so you can travel around it.
The problem is that we live at the third dimension... so we can't se all the things that exists at the fourth dimension.

You can understand better if you imagine the second dimension. If Someone lives at the second dimension, he could only see flaped things, that are a part of the complete thing in third dimension. For exemple, if someone who lives in the second dimension try to see an esphere with diameter 'a', first he will see a single dot, then a circunference with a very small diameter, and the diameter grows until 'a', and them decrease until be a single dot again and desapear. In other words, by traveling in the second dimension you can see only the parts of third dimension that exists at that plan.

By the same way, we live at the third dimension, so we can't se all of the fourth dimension, the time. We can see only a part of it, a single dot of all the line of the time, or like we call it, an instant. If we could live at the fourth dimension, we will se all the line of time, like we see a cube and not a square.

Ever been having fun and wondered at how the time flew by you? Ever been doing something you hate or been bored and marveled at how slowly time was passing? You can change the rate at which you travel through time (but not the direction). The only way you can tell you are traveling through time is by your internal sense of time, though. Any clock external to yourself is naturally going to keep time at the same rate it always has. Suppose you and a friend decide to test this. You have your friend sit in a blank room and watch the clock's hands move. You go do whatever you enjoy most. Your watch and his clock will both say 4:00 at the same time, but you'll get to 4:00 much more quickly (unless he falls asleep).

They did a test like this on brainiac on tv the other week, whereby they got 2 people, one who did fun stuff and the other who just sat in a room, afterwards they were asked how much time had passed, and even though the same amount had passed, the one sat in the room estimated the time over the actual time, and the one doing fun stuf estimated the time at under the actual time.

Well there are all sorts of paradoxes for going back in time as you would alter stuff if only by your gravity and then through chaos theory that will junk everything up and change you from going back in time by a little which changes your impact etc etc. There are also paradoxes pertaining to you having sex with your grandmother which made for a great futurama episode.

Going forward in time faster than normal is sort of like hibernating so there are fewer paradoxes with that one.

Also, if the normal flow of time is forward, then to go backwards would require the input of huge amounts of energy

According to Stephen Hawking, one theory of time is that once the universe reaches critical expansion, it will start to collapse and time will go backwards. Of course later in A Brief History of Time he provides counter arguments to that point he made at the beginning of the book.
