We are from different backgrounds... Let's tell others what we are doing in real life.
I am a Medical Microbiologist by profession.
I'm a chemist (in training
just like you judging from your profile
)
None yet.I am a first year college student....thinking of a double major in either Spanish & Gender Studies, English & Gender Studies or Spanish & English
I am a pupil in a senior high school in Norway.
I am beeing educated as a musician, but also consider working with something within computer technology afterwards
On my spare time, I develope a sudoku application (among many other things)
I am a mechanical engineer. I am also a small business owner with my own unique product that I manufacture and sell [www].
I am a computer programmer - or software engineer as it is called these days.
I wish I had one!! Just temping (admin) at the moment...
Have visions of enterting recruitment consultancy, but don't know if that will pan out.
I'm a student (Spanish and English, plus a couple of languages on the side to keep me occupied) and sometime waitress/shop girl/coffee girl. I'd love to wind up translating literature of some sort, but I imagine such jobs are far and few between, so I suppose I'll just slog it in the city for five years and then give it all up to raise dozens of children.
My absolute dream job would be to translate poetry from Spanish into English. I'd love to do something a bit freelance where I could work from home and up-sticks and move any time I felt like it.
I am a student as well. I'm taking college classes through my high school, and I'm going to college full-time next year! I'm very excited about living on campus!

Right now I'm in my last year of High School, and I'm going to college next year and I hope to end off studying Graphics Design =D
Mainly I'm student. But now I am also Delphi programmer in one company, c++ programmer in second company and web server administrator in third company and I feel fine
i don't really have a profession? currently i work in a very small print shop and do a lot of screenprinting as a job and a hobby, i also wait tables at a karaoke bar near my home. i also do paintings to sell, commission artwork, and some web design/development. i am going to be going to school to teach high school art, just working towards that. :p
I work in pc shop. I install windows and Linux and repair PC-s.
I'm a triple threat. I'm a writer on strike, a deadly sex ninja, and movie theater occupant. Although, I only seem to get payed for sweeping up stale popcorn and serving fatty foods, as well as kicking little kids out of the theater. I think it would just be funny if I wasn't payed to do that.
Currently a full time art student on a quarter leave, but working at a coffee shop in the meantime!
I'm the holy grail, on strike as well.
Student.
I am a student doing my bachelors in Business Administration. I am in my 4th semester waiting for my university exams.

I'm an Electronics Engineer, but I would have prefered to become a Postman instead!
Im at secondary school in the UK. But i am also self employed at home, i do alot of creative things to try to earn money, such as making and designing games, doing graphics on photoshop. And other things.
I am a Structured Cabling Systems designer from China.
Our company make physical structure for computer network.
I am Studying computer Programming (2nd year)
I'm a web master in training lol!
But already trained merchandiser... it is about standards and ricing things.
I run my own one person video production and multi media company. I do TV commercials, weddings, docs, freelance news, meetings and events, live broadcast over the internet, web video, a little web design and digital photography, and things like that. Working for yourself is actually a lot more work than I thought it would be what with all the paperwork, contracts, taxes and such.
Electronics engineering... woot!
I'm also working as a PC technician.
I'm taking a degree in electronic and computer networks engineer, I also works as a music teacher in part-time
I am software developer and web application developer.

Although i may take up psychology as a profession.
I am studying Graphic Design course in Uxbridge College (Hillingdon, London). I'm currently on a last year before university. I still don't know which University I should choose hehe... I'm and IT manager and usually lead large IT global projects, but this is more fun
Me, I'm still in high school, but that doesn't mean I can't pursue a part-time job or other such pleasant things. Currently, I'm learning SEO, I'm looking for a job (which will probably be in a call-center) and I'm a guitar technician for a local metal band. It's not wonderful, but it's a start; I'm going to progress soon, or so I hope.

I am a Network Security professional in the making. I have worked in this position for a bit over a year and am loving every minute of it. I am fitted for this profession because I am very analytical and pick things apart constantly. For instance, my g/f refuses to watch a movie/show with me because I am constantly picking the shaking of the camera, the horrible sound, the praticality of it, and even the horrible acting (or good)!!

I am a culinarian. What is that? Well I've been in the Foodservice Business since I was 16 and have worked at all aspects of it. I never did formal schooling so I don't think that I have the right to call myself a chef (although people do), but I can definitely serve in that capacity. I love what I do and wouldn't trade my hectic, crazy world for any of you desk jockeys or computer ninjas!
I'm a student photography, first year (studied English for two years before this), and really enjoying it!
I'm electrotechnician and I'm still in high school, but next year, I'm going to university of electrotechnics. I really like my profession.

I wash dishes, dishes covered in chewed up meat. Actually, if you want to get technical, I don't wash dishes, I operate a dish machine. My job title is DMO. My job is to remove enough gunk to keep customers from complaining and do it without injuring my ligaments or anything else, which is sometimes a challenge. I also get paid to say weird things to busers and ask cooks how many kid plates it would take to serve a kid. I think we DMO's need a union.

Their wisdom, their smiles or just plain satisfaction of talking to a person who doesn't have any ulterior motive when their are talking to you! I just love their company.
I'm a website designer, a struggling one.. cos, lack of confidence but i'm sure has a lot to offer..
Past few years I have been student(mostly), web designer, information manager (or something), telemarkerter and now I'm accountant. I don't know about future.
I'm a student
and hopefully i will be a programmer. This is my plan to rule the world
). I'm at my first year as a student and i have another ... 2 years after this one. Hm.. after that another 2 ears for master etc... plans plans... probably i will take a job and code some cool stuff. (of course the learning process doesn't stop
. I will have to choose another domain to study it. So basically my job will be to be a learner
) )
Btw ... it sucks that in my country (Romania) a 6th grade kid knows more stuff about physics, math, about the language he speaks, chemistry, etc. , than a 10th grade from western countries like France, Germany, UK etc... Why it sucks ? Because you need to learn that stuff.. and you spend less time playing etc... but at least you know that you can't start a TV with your AA size battery
) (like people on YouTube do)
I was a software developer for palm, now i am currently a web programmer
Im currently a freelance web/graphic designer. Been doing web designing for the past 5 years now and graphic designing for 4 years. Im also a traditional artist and occasionally do oil and acrylic paintings.

Because too much chauvinism isn't good for you.
Besides, the average 11-12 year old (grade 6) lacks the required level of abstraction to understand even basics in chemistry, while most 15-16 year olds (grade 10) are able to grasp them.

I'm just a student. you know? your every day student that goes around and hangs out and studies every day. Sometimes it can get kind of boring. other times i can really enjoy myself. i mean im about to go to college and everything is very exciting. but what does tha tactually mean? how am i acutally excited? and why am i actually being so happy about wasting my life during those miserable college years? sure some people woudl tell me that college is a time for getting to know ppl and to really enjoy the best of life before getting married and having kids and getting a job and getting hit on the head with a stick but why does it matter so much? anyways, im really tired and really stressed and im hoping that college would be a good life for me
Interesting topic here.
I didn't have the chance to find right away a suitable job after my studies in mass media communication (I have a bachelor degree).
After graduating in 2005, I had various experiences (radio host, school coordinator, communications, etc...) but mostly as a volunteer with no salary at all (just transport costs refund).
Working on behalf of several companies gives me a significant added value to my CV and professional skills.
I can tell that some employers prefer to choose candidates (in a recruitment process) who really managed to prove themselves in the market (whether they managed to get a contract or not).
Now the sad thing is that many people I know who hold degrees in extremely popular fields (for instance, law, medicine, psychology,...) are often condemned either to be legally unemployed or to work in fields where they don't fit at all because they need to survive in our capitalistic society.
I've been through lots of interviews and I know very well the strain of not being the one chosen.
Hopefully for me, this month might be the good one because I'm about to achieve the last round of a job that totally matches my degree and skills.
Should I be the one, then it would be "Communications manager" in a non-profit organization

Student: businessmanagement and real estate
I'm a Microbiologist.
Designation = Teaching assistant
But i'm the System addministrator in the departmental IT lab
I am an Accounting Student. I hope to be in the full time work force by 2012.
I'm a student in General Engineering at the University of Illinois. My website pays for my computer related expenses so yea, then working over the summer pays for a *very* small amount of my college costs, ugh even with in-state (I'm a resident of Illinois) cost it's really expensive. I couldn't imagine being from another state/country and paying the full $27,000 a year in tuition
.
I run an imaginary empire that oppresses fictional people and doesn't give them enough to eat. Well, the last part is true because I don't pay these fictional people and I don't feed them at all.

I graduated from High School last year, and I've studied Business Administration during the first semester of 2008. Dropped out of college because the course was so oh-so-boring (no offense to whoever does this - it's just not meant for me). This semester, I've enrolled in another college, for Literary Studies this time. Now I have to take two tests, and if I'm approved, I'm in. Yay! But the course only begins next year, so yeah, I'm pretty much doing nothing right now.
Lol saw title and was going to post that my Paladin is a Miner and Blacksmith and that my Druid is an Enchanter and Engineer but I won't.
I am Really, Really Cool as a profession. It's pretty fun. I recommend it. Basically, I go around fixing my hair and being awesome all the time in exchange for money. It's a hard business to get in to, though, with all the degrees and whatnot required.
I've tried every job imagine. Starting as a road side lather ware seller when I just 17th, I progress to government job in Statistic dept, with a finance co under Hire Purchase dept. After that a sharp turn in life when I became a Deejay, starting with roller skate outlet, supermarket announcer, progress to Karaoke DJ and later became Club DJ.
Again a sharp turn after 3 years, when I change my career to office work, working with Eveready battery, after that joined a car manufacturer, a trading company and with 7-Eleven (Malaysia) for nearly 15 years). Now my last career is in IT Retails. Hopefully this will be my last......
