My new jeep (w/ pics).

ocalhoun
I decided to sell my old jeep and get a new truck, and this is what I found.
As far as this type of jeep goes, this was exactly what I was looking for: one with modest off-road upgrades on it, the straight 6 4.0L and an auto transmission. I love it! (It's an '04 wrangler)

These pictures are from me trying it out off-road. (Those are horse tracks I'm following through the sand)

This is a nice little spot for just such activities not far from where I live.

In the above picture, I'm on the edge of a hill, and it is threatening to roll over, slide down, and get stuck all at once. Apparently I underestimated it though, because it pulled through just fine.

That's one nice thing about driving a jeep: I can ignore selected road signs!

Is that a 4 wheel drive?

When you want to drive off-road, isn's better a manual trasmition?
I mean, you can choose better the power/speed you want from the engine? am I wrong? I have never driven in a Jeep... Embarassed

By the way, really nice Jeep! 4.0 6 cilinders is a lot of power! Is it confortable?

Really nice jeep i would like to have it. But the place i live is not the most proper for that kind of car, because here is very cold and i supose that jeep must not have a proper heater.

It has a perfectly normal heater, but very little insulation, so it would be a bit chilly at times.
You can always just wear a coat.

Most people prefer manual, but I like the auto better. It may give you slightly less control, but it makes up for it in that it is easy to give it a slow, gentle start that will prevent you from digging holes when you start after stopping in soft stuff.
6 cyl a lot of power? Sort of; it gives 190hp, but I'm used to a 220hp V8, however, this is a much lighter truck, so it still scoots around good.
Is it comfortable? To put it simply, no. This kind of jeep isn't made for comfort.

No idea just what kind of automatic it has... My grandfather says it is made by Toyota, but I find it hard to believe that Jeep (more properly, the Chrysler group) and Toyota would cooperate like that.

A good pick for a new truck, but what does it have to do with this (old) thread about my jeep?
Besides also having bought an American truck, there's no comparison.
