which should i use for just making coll graphics and what not?
Ps or Ai
wtf are "cool graphics?" that doesnt make any sense. but use Ps..... and just mess around and copy what other people who are good do, and eventually you will pick up some skills
Depends on what these "coll" graphics are for. If you'll be scaling them, use Adobe Illustrator. Also, I find it a lot easier to draw in Ai than Ps. Photoshop is good too and people have done amazing things with it, but it also isn't a vector format and will pixellate when resized.
use ps for photoshopping images, use Ai for drawing images from scratch
You can do some awesome images with photoshop but you have to learn alot before you can do these "cool" images
I think videoguy has it down. I agree.
Ps is great for creating from scratch, and editing.
AI since you can scale them to ur hearts content if you are going to draw from scratch. Otherwise use PS
Depends what you want to create Vector or Pixel Graphics, its as simple as that.. If you give us a bit more information on what you want to create then you might get more helpful answers
By the way what is coll graphics ??????
Photoshop is an advanced image editing / creation tool. One of the best of the breeds in the photo editing application market. It creates wonder images from nothing !!!
Specifically the current version of photoshop, WoWWW - It is really superb !!!! But it drastically brings down the system performance. As far i as i know the current version of Photo shop should aleast be installed on a machine which has P4 3 GhzZ with 1 GB RAM.

Leave the guy with his images... hahaha
And I suggest to go with Illustrator, for actually creating graphics (it can be done in Photoshop, but in a much limited way).

Photoshop is used to create bitmaps (a grid of pixels or printed dots generated by computer to represent type and images).
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Illustrator is used to create illustrations, cartoon images etc. (An image made up of individual objects instead of pixels. The objects are defined by mathematical equations. You can adjust the size of a vector image and the image remains clear and of high quality).

I am a Photoshop user. I suggest using Photoshop in rasterize images and use Illustrator in vector images.
It far depends on what you want... I use photoshop but Illustrator and other vector painting tools have the advantage of rescaleing the images without them becoming bad. That's a great help and also the fact that they each part of the image is an object that can be freely moved.
"which should i use for just making coll graphics and what not?"
First, try to learn about vectorized design and "bitmap" design...
Next, try to define "graphics".
Try to think about the names of these softwares: Illustrator (illustrations), Photoshop (photography).
Well?
My opinion: you should learn/use both.
