Dell Inspiron 1501 Battery

indie_hall
I bought this laptop last Christmas and the battery died the other day. I have a very old laptop (~6 years) that still has a good battery, I checked around and it seems to be a problem. Where would I call to get a free replacement (the labour is garanteed for a year)?

If no "freebie" exists, then where would you recommend I get the new battery (and yes I know Dell is an option but do I want to give $130 for a battery that will crap out in about 9 months?

Contact Dell to see if they will replace your battery and/or if it was part of the recalls they had a while back.

If you have to purchase a battery, use sites like www.froogle.com and search for the part number. The part number should be on the battery. You might be able to find a reseller that will save you a few bucks. Good luck.

Call dell up. It might still be under warranty. Mostly, its the power adapter that doesn't come under warranty.
