Vista Crashing

zanzou
My Vista has been crashing lately, for no reason I've been able to tell. Usually when I'm scrolling through a webpage, it will lock up-- I won't get any reaction from typing in anything, it doesn't go away with time, and the only way to get my computer running again is to press the restart button.

I'm wondering if this is something that other Vista users have had, or if it's something likely to do with my own computer.

What is it that happens exactly. My Vista's been a bit dodgy, but it might just be my computer.

Just like I said-- I'll be browsing, when suddenly it will crash (usually as I'm scrolling down). The cursor won't move, none of the keys respond at all.... and then I restart my computer.

And never just rule out hardware failures. Check if all your hardware is fine.
You can run memtest for RAM. Check CPU tempreture to see if there's no overheating and so on.

Install XP, delete Vista

Or Install Linux, delete Vista. Wink

To me that screams out Virus, but I could be very wrong.

This sounds the same as when every new Windows OS first starts out.

It amazes me why people jump at new stuff without thinking (espaecialy when it comes to M$)

:/ I didn't jump at it-- I couldn't buy a computer WITHOUT it.
