Good day everybody.

I have a interesting curiosity, silverligth is one of the features of the WPF (windows presentation fundation). I want to try improve a way to use php toggether silverlgth, somebody knows if this is posible.

Any commentary please tell me.

What is XAML? Heard of it and know it is a Microsoft technology... but what does it do?

XAML (eXtensible Application Markup Language), is the programation language that defines the user interfaz in WPF(Windows Presentation Fundation).

WPF in the language that defines the graphic interfaz of the applications on Windows Vista, for XP is necesary the .NET Framework 3.0.

The graphic applications en Vista are built with a xaml file, that defines the user interfaz of easy way and with a VB or C# project that defines the behavior of the application. it means we can separate the GUI definitions from the programation of the application.

In the web applications case, the behavior of the application can be controlled by JavaScript code, and only is necesary to download and install the microsoft silverligth plugin, like a flash player..

correct me if I'm wrong, but my guess is that it won't run on a Lunix server

Ok, It is assumed that silverlight run on the client, and the server has nothing to do with this technology. You can host a web application with microsoft silverligth and probe it just domwloading the linux version silverligth plugin.. called moonlight. As i said, this like a flash animation just the plugin is necesary on the client. This not like php, asp or jsp, this are server scripts. XAML work with JS Script.

in the standalone applicattions .NET framework 3.0 is necesary to develop and run its, and you can do it just on windows.. I dont know if there is a project like moolight. But you try installing WINE on your linux server. WINE is an emulator of windows working on linux....
