Microbiology or Laboratory medicine ?
I'm a Lab Assistant. Here all those things you describe are different branches of the Medical Laboratory. Microbiology deals with infections and bacteria,
Blood banking does cross matches and cross screen
and pathology deals with tissue samples from biopsies.
There is also Chemistry and hematology which run different blood tests. The lab technicians run the tests and prepare the slides and the pathologists interprets the results.

Well, I was working for a medical college hospital here in India as Laboratory Technologist for last one year after my graduation in Medical Laboratory Technology (B.Sc. MLT). Now I am doing my post graduation in medical microbiology... I was just searching for someone from the same background..
