Ok dont get me wrong I love wordpress BUT theres one thing that really bugs me and thats updating it!
What I do takes me hours to complete:
First backup my databases
Backup wordpress,plugins,themes etc
Install the new wordpress
Entering details etc
upload everything I backed up...
ZZZZZZzzzzzzzZZZz
Is there a easy way I wish they had an auto update plugin or something..
Anyone else frustrated about this,or maybe you know a better way?
Please help.
Regards mark

First Get the latest WordPress . Either download and extract it directly to the server.
Then Copy the new files to your server, overwriting old files.

The wp-content folder requires special handling, as do the plugins and themes folders. You must copy over the contents of these folders, not the entire folder. Copying the entire folder overwrites all your customizations and added content.

Also take care to preserve the wp-config.php file in the root directory, as it contains your database sign-in information.

At last Visit the upgrade page. It will be at a URL like http://example.com/wordpress/wp-admin/upgrade.php. This updates your database to be compatible with the latest code.

Yeah im sussed !!

Hi dude,

you like wordpress.... and you never visited thier website for this info.

as our friend said you have to look in their website for the info which makes it more easier to update. I would say that Wordpress is the most effective and easiest tool when compared with other tools. You might have to work little hard while updating but not too much. I guess may not update quite often so this shouldn't be a matter as long as you love it.

i agree updating is annoying, but not too bad
