Before you ask, I don't have pets (apart from my goldfish) but if I did I think I'd have a dog....a scruffy brown one like on Annie !

I don't have any pets. Wouldn't mind a cute wee brown and white dog, but it wouldn't be the right thing to do as I couldn't give it the attention it would deserve as I'm out of my flat every day and away some weekends.
I would only have a dog if I gave it 100%. They deserve that at the least.
smart thinking.....unattended dogs make one hell of a racket left alone all day....you'd soon fall out with your neighbours.
And just think, if it wasn't house trained, it'd never get any washing, ironing or cleaning done !
Your right. I have been thinking of maybe seeing if I could spend more time with a dog in my flat by making a sacrafice or two, but it will still be left alone at times and to think of the mess it would leave would be quite traumatic on my nasal passages.
However well house trained they still need to go to the toilet. My flat has no direct outside access without going through a communal door, so a dog flap is no good.
No, it's no good. unless there's major changes, I can't have get a dog. 
if you got a dog from a rescue centre, do they come already house-trained, & so therefore just a matter of you taking the thing out for walkies?
