- Content-sensitive ads - this actively tries to find items for sale that are more applicable to your page content. If you are blogging about car stereos, we try to display ads that are relevant. For this reason, your users will be much more likely to click any ad that appears on your pages.
- Keywords appear in boldface - bold text attracts the attention of the user. In a classified newspaper for example, advertising with bold words costs extra.
- Appearance - the effect of beauty is more than you'd think. With rounded corners and perfect fit, users feel more like moving their mouse above the ad.
- Customization - this factor alone should increase your click-through rates. The ads will fit perfectly into whatever space you define except for the very small.
- You can specify how many columns and rows. This allows you to display more items in a limited space than you could using the Editor Toolkit.
- You can customize the colors and font to match your page.
- Several border options (rounded border, square border, or no border) mean that you should be able to make it look like it belongs anywhere.
- You never have to worry about ads that don't display any items as our code will revert to cached items that were already successfully retrieved. Even in the event that eBay had a major problem with their API services, we could still display the data that we cached until their expiration dates passed... the bids may be inaccurate, but at least we'd display relevant items that should still be at eBay.
