need help with beryl

I have an HP dv6500 notebook with Fedora core 7 . I installed beryl using yum . It installed fine . I can see the beryl settings manager . 3d effects and other animations are enabled . I still cannot see any of the effects.
I've tried on both gnome and KDE environments.

Do i need to make some other configuration changes to make it working?

Perhaps you do not have the correct drivers installed?

Other then that I have no experience with Fedora.

driver doesn't seem to be a problem here as LINUX detected the correct drivers for the graphics adapter

anything else that can be the cause ??

Is the program actually started? It's all very well having settings correct, but the program needs to be running too.

If you right-click on beryl-manager check to see that the window decorator is set to emerald.
