A great thing in life can be a great funeral! This alters through cultures of course, but tell me of great ones!
Tell your greatest funerals you've been to!
My grandmother died a few years back after a long battle with ALS. Everyone knew what was coming, so it was not that sad when it happened. At the funeral they had a room with a tv and couches and stuff for grieving families, and all of the kids (about 30 of us) went there and hung out. That was probably the most fun I have ever had at a funeral.
For some reason, whenever they sing "Amazing Grace" it gets me. It's a very nostalgic and calming peace for me. When my friend's father died, his coffin had three crosses on it and was labelled with a "In God's Hands" on the top. For some reason, that erased all of the saddness.
It's amazing what a little hope can do.

This is obviously a coincidence, but it was moving, nevertheless... It was raining on the day of my great grandfather's funeral. We were inside finishing up our tributes to him. The last was a girl who had come to sing Amazing Grace. Once she got up on the podium and started singing, the rain stopped completely. But when she had finished and stepped down again, you could see the rain start to patter down on the grass and in puddles outside again. It was the only time I felt like everything was going to be alright the whole time we were at the funeral. I miss him.
I've been to one which i enjoyed. We had a party afterwards and i really enjoyed it.
Some may think its disrespectful but if my nan was there watching us at the funeral, she wouldn't want us to be sad, crying for her. She'd want us to be happy and carry on with our lives. The actual funeral was nice, a small funeral with selected people and i think she'd have been happy with it.
