I'm 15 and I'm already studiing for my theory so I can start to learn to fly next year.

Are there some other people who are learning to fly or who are going to learn it?

The theory is very easy, but its a lot, ten books full of info you should learn. (and say 33% of it you never use when you are actually flying, 33% you always use, and 33% you sometimes use).

So,... Are you a privite pilot, if yes where?
Or are you going to learn it?

Well. Im gonna go for my liscence when I hit 16. My dad is 39 ( 40 next week ) and has been flying since he was 16. He now flies a Citation Excel, a Citation XLS, and Citation Bravo for Citation Shares ( www.citationshares.com ).

I learned to fly when I lived in the US (small Cessnas out of an airfield just north of DC). I didn't get my licence, though, as I volunteered for a posting to Indonesia before I got that far.

On safety - all you really have to remember is that all take-offs are optional, all landings are mandatory.

Good luck with your lessons!

@ hsadmin:

Nice link - looks like an awesome company to work for.

An example of a really professional web site as well.

You don't need a license to fly an ultralight or an experimental aircraft.

Check out the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association).

15 is a perfect age for this

You are also old enough to join the Civil Air Patrol.

Good luck.

I never really had the desire to learn. I don't want to be a pilot, and it's very expensive. My dad used to fly and he told me that it's like driving a car in a way, because it's thrilling at first but just gets dull and boring after a while.

Maybe it's an acquired taste. Have fun and be safe!

In Belguim (where I live), you can start flying whenever you want to, even under 16 (-> the age you need to have for a practising license).

Update: the 4 of January --> medical check-up and next I'm going to start practical.
