Anyone with WinSock C++ experience

Hi All,

I need a person with windows socket programming experience in C++ win32 applications.

My problem is that I want to connect to a given webaddres and then request a page.

How do I change the webaddress like "divinelight.isa-geek.com" to IP address that I can pass into my sockets??
there are functions like gethosybyaddress() but they work on host names on local area network.

Please help.

Uh, gethostbyName() should work.

Which flavour of C++ are you using and on what Operating System?
If you're using the .Net framework there is the System.Net.Dns.Resolve() function as well.

Yes its working now, the error was that i entered invalid address(nonexistent) and it returns a null pointer and crashed. Was not checking it.
