I have heard that honda civic gives a very bad mileage in city driving conditions compared to other cars. What do you people have to say?

I've personally never driven one, but I have a honda accord, and it gets really good gas mileage.

I don't think so since my gramps has one and it is a 2004 civic ex and he still gets 26 city 30 hwy. But he also drives slow as crap but still drop 2 miles off of that and you got 24 - 28 and that's still good for real driving conditions

Here GM has introduced 'Spark' it gives about 47 miles per US gallon

You guys must have different standards than I do. A regular Civic should get 30+ mpg, and the hybrid version 40+. The sporty Si gets 27-28 mpg real-world. They are among the most efficient cars in America, at least. Honda's also making a diesel soon, and they have a fuel cell civic for lease that gets 100 mpg equivalent, I believe.

From my experience I don't believe there is anything special about the mileage on a civic. It's just another internal combustion motor. The only thing I like about them is the parts are so easy and readily available. I have a friend with a hybrid civic and yea it gets about 40 miles to the gallon but that's because it is a hybrid, and there are talks in the news now that talk about how much more waste is being produced by the electric companies because of everyone "plugging in" their cars now. I would say stick with a nice 4cyl civic and keep up with the maintenance!!!!! I even like the Accords (better) with the standard 2.2. My friend actually has a 2.0 Accord and gets great gas mileage (don't know exactly but it's a 5 speed). That's just my 2 cents.

for me, honda civic was the best in it's class. with n/a engine + v-tec system it's gives you something that you'll call awesome+fantastic. it's not using too much gas since honda cars were really gas saving cars compare to other car maker from japan/asia.

Now, I'm not sure about these kinds of aspects of modern culture, but isn't an infiniti 'more mature' than a honda civic?
