Hi,
I am looking for some software that allows me to convert a .doc file to a .pdf file. I'm trying to convert my resume to pdf format. Does anyone know of any such software available on the net?
thanks in advance

You can open the file with Openoffice (http://www.openoffice.org/), then export to pdf. Openoffice is a free office suit. You can use it on Windows or Linux.
Open your files using OpenOffice.org's Writer and hit the convert to PDF button.
Hope that's what you're looking for!
/EDIT: Oh, he beat me to it.
wow the 3rd time i'm reading a topic on PDF conversion. Yup, you can convert via OpenOffice but you may have some formatting issues in terms of layout. Another alternative is to use PrimoPDF found at this website:
www.primopdf.com
You can convert practically anything in its original format cause it uses AFPL Ghostscript and Redmon and runs as a print driver via print jobs.
There is an iGoogle gadget for it that works really well. Just search for it on there.
'CutePDF', it's a virtual printer that you will able to use in every program.

Yes I am using this free software. CutePDF Writer allows you to convert any printable document to PDF format. It installs as a virtual printer and is available from any application that offers a `Print` option. The program is easy to use, just select the CutePDF printer and click the print button.
You can download this freeware from the following site:
http://www.acrosoftware.com/Products/CutePDF/writer.asp
Yeah. I'd just use OpenOffice writer to export it to PDF. It works quite well for what I've used it for - texts. Then again I've had no need for any fancier of an office suite. Go with cutePDF otherwise. I'll bet there'd be some postscript converter as well that would work pretty good.
Use the ABBY's PDF converter. It can do both forward and backward conversion i.e from pdf and to pdf both.
ABBY PDF Transformer
PDFCreator? Also works as a virtual printer...

I agree that this is a good program. It's essential if you're using MS Office 2007 as none of the Acrobat plugins work.
There are also alot of free online sites that will turn your documents into PDFs for you like http://www.pdfonline.com/.

nice one.. thanks pal...
Hi, deepod
try Altsoft Xml2PDF (http://alt-soft.com). it converts xml to pdf, in your case you need wordML file - just open your .doc file with new Microsoft Office 2007 and save as .docx, then convert to pdf using the programme i've proposed
My preferred Print-to-PDF converter would have to be Bullzip PDF Printer. It gives a wide range of options when producing a PDF and so far it has correctly reproduced everything I've tried.
http://www.bullzip.com/
if you are using Linux you can use OpenOffice. In windows you can use PrimoPDF http://www.primopdf.com/
There are also many free online converters like pdfonline
Any addon for microsoft office 2003 its easy if there is option like that .
I use also 'CutePDF' when printing out of OPENOFFICE
And its all freeeeeeeeeeee
yeaaah hi hi horeaa
hey,
you can use online adobe converter. dont go for other third party software, if you are like to convert simple documents.
Just install PDFCreator (http://sourceforge.net/projects/pdfcreator/)
It shows up as a printer and lets you make a PDF from any program that can use the printer and its 100% free and open source.
Now a day, I just use google Docs to do this type of convert for me... without any watermark!
Great
This is great especially since I want it to be easier to read all the stories I have saved up.
Now I only have the difficult choise of which one to pick.
