I am looking for the best web based mail and extra features

I was using Yahoo mail, then went to Gmail and then came back to Yahoo mail.
Why?
Well, there are a number of reasons:
1) gmail would not let me sort by sender. i found this to be quite annoying.
2) gmail did not seem to have any calendar utilities. yahoo's were superior, giving me the options to send alerts to my phone, email, yahoo IM, or all of them...
3) Yahoo free email increased max mailbox size to compete with gmail. so i guess i need to say thanks to gmail for that.
4) gmail spam protection was not that good, yahoo's seems better, but unfortunately, they have a limit to the # of people you can "block" if you have their free mail.
5) the real question is: who offers the best email along with extra features? Yahoo mail offers a briefcase, a notepad, calendar options that are great! Does anyone know of something better? Please advise.

If you sort by sender, you are probably searching for a specific sender. Just use the "advanced search" link behind the search box.

Uhm... It actually DOES have a calender option, with the whole send-to-phone thing in it right here. On my account, "calender" is one of the little toggle links at the top left side of the gmail page, along with "Docs & Spreadsheets" and more.

You'll find an overview of all the Google products on this page. You can subscribe to any of them for free and it will all be integrated automatically. Very proficient.

That isn't really a reason to say "no" to Gmail.

I don't know very much about user blocking (except on frihost... muahahaha) but I do know Gmail's spam protection is cutting edge technology and widely known for its effectiveness.

After you have seen the overview of Google's tools, you might want to switch back to Google? They also have some nifty admin tools for your frihost website.

1) when spam does get through, i need to sort by sender to weed out the bad senders. how am i going to do an advanced search for accounts i have no interest in receiving mail from?

2) also if i subscribe to a mailing list and just want to delete all the emails without reading them from that list, i must search for the account and then select all for deletion. this is slower.

3) you are correct, gmail has made their calendar MUCH better than it was 6 months ago when i decided it was no good. i DO LIKE their spreadsheets and documents section also.

4) purpose of this post was not to slam or praise yahoo or gmail really. i just wanted to find the best free mail out there that has a bunch of features... is it gmail, yahoo, or something else?
