I've only used Google's adsense, and I've only just started using it so I couldn't really comment on its effectiveness...
However, I took a look at two of the sites you linked. Clicksor and Tribalfusion both look interesting, but they also both require high traffic sites. This is no problem for a site that seriously wants to make some money, but for a starting site 5,000 unique visitors per day is a bit high. Google is a lot more forgiving in that regard, and they'll approve just about anything with some content.
One thing that looked nice in Clicksor was that there were banner adds that paid per impression. One problem with Adsense and whatnot is that everything is based on click-throughs and it can be hard to induce savvy users to click through to something they know is an advertisement. When you get paid by the impression, you can at least harness a little bit of revenue for your traffic even if people are disinclined to click ads.
Good luck,

Those rates are the "average" rate per click - not a guaranteed or maximum rate.
$1.00 per click through is not normal on google - it's a high point. I'd guess that the average is much less... perhaps someone with a long history could give us an example. Then again, the average rate per click also depends on what type of keywords are being targeted, since different topics fetch different advertising prices.
My point with the Clicksor options, though, is that you have an option to diversify your advertisements. You can include banners (based on impressions) and pop-unders (paid per visitor) to give you a baseline income. Then, you can use some of the same click-through ads like Google does.
Even if Clicksor pays less per click, it may be worth using them. You can determine what your average gain per thousand impressions is in Google. Then compare that to $0.50 / thousand impressions (banner ad), $0.004 per visitor (pop under), and your expected click-through earnings.
If your site meets their standards, I think it would be worth giving them a test run for a month or two to see how they measure up. That is unless there is someone around that has used Clicksor and can vouch for its usefulness or uselessness.
