I think the reason I hate Christianity is not because of the actual religion itself. Jesus Christ was a cool guy, but the text about "God shall punish the unbelievers with hellfire" sounds simple minded and paganistic. No, the real reason I hate Christianity is because I used to be a Christian. There was this old guy from down south that used to go to our (non-Catholic) church. At the time I was like 12 or 13 and, he was usually always sitting on this bench. Every time I walked by the bench, he would say "You look so handsome." Of course he would also say something like "The girls like handsome guys like you." At the time, I was pretty stupid, and I wanted to be polite, so I would nod my head, say "thankyou", and even smile. Looking back on my self the rage grows deeper and deeper, so I had to post this on frihost to let all my rage out. The worst part of it is is my Mom smiled as well. I feel so lost when my mom says "I love you" and acts sad when I don't respond, so I soften up and numb my mind. Then the next day my mom will be mean to me. Then the next day she will say "I love you." And the pattern repeats.
I don't know if they old guy was gay, straight, and frankly I don't really care. Everyone at the church thought those comments were acceptable, or just didn't really care. As I started to grow older, I began to grow weary of these comments. My rage grew every week when I realized I was too shy to talk to girls, but kept getting these comments. Now, two years later, I am an Atheist with no tolerance for much of Religion. Some Christians stupidity is unceasing.

I've all my life heard "you are tall and beautiful, why don't you become a model", and on the other hand I have heard the complete opposite. It's normal, it's human, it's cruel, and it has nothing to do with religion what so ever.

There is nothign wrong with what he said to you, taken at face value. However society, and certain sick individuals have made comments like that seem wrong, and out of place. It is unfortunate that you feel that somehow screwed you up. I am assuming other stuff besides him just saying that tormented you? Was there actual abuse involved? I can't see how something someone says would affect you so much when it is a compliment. However I feel that there is something more to it then what you are saying.
I also feel that there is more to it because you are pushing all this hatred and blame on a sect of belief when the two seem unconnected. It is apparent you are having issues with your mother, which is also unrelated and for it I am also sorry you have to deal with that.
Please "let all my rage out" some more, for I am curious what the actual bane of your existance is. Given what you have stated, it isn't belief in a guy that lived 2000 years ago.

You were abused, you said so yourself. I must say you don't sound very legit. Is this some sort of joke? Do you think it's funny to impersonate someone who has been through some tough times in their life?
Gotta love it when people blame the group when bad people within the group do soemthing to them. Oh yeah, cuz picking on others is biblical. What now? You are going to say the crusades are as well? Look, every group has bad people in it, people who claim to be part of the group but are not. As with anything in life you have to becareful who you listen to and who you follow. Just because someone says they are a Christian, just because they goto church every sunday, doesn't make them Christian...go read the bible if you don't believe me. So stop generalizing and grow up.You're blaming the way society and your parents act on your religion? Well, guess what? No matter if you're Christian, Buddhist, Islamic, atheist, or any other religion out there, there's still going to be people who say stuff that'll make you feel uncomfortable. Your parents will still act that way towards you. They're human, after all. Besides, they raised you: provided you with food, shelter, and an education, and you don't love them? Give them a break if they don't act like they love you all the time when you don't reciprocate their feelings.
I agree, you're taking your anger out on a group that has absolutely nothing to do with what's causing you to be angry. And coeus was only trying to help. It is pointless to get angry with him, especially to that degree. That kind of stuff will get you banned. He wasn't trying to force anything on your, in fact, he didn't even mention any beliefs in his entire post besides the reference to the bible.
Please calm down and actually talk rather than rant and cuss so that we can actually get something out of this post.

How was I impersenating anyone? And I certainly don't think any of this is funny in the slightest bit. Im sorry for cussing you out but the way you said "abused" sounded like rape or something. You never know these days with those Catholic priests n shit.
And I never said anything about my "parents", I said something about my "mom not caring." And again love means sex nowadays so watch your wording.
