I use deviant art, it has alot of good things. And ive gotten a few from a friend, and other places which i cant recall offhand.

Hmmm... dunno why you were having trouble finding free brushes on Google -
http://www.google.com/search?q=%22free%20PhotoShop%20brushes%22 (sometimes it helps get better results if you put the exact phrase you're looking for into quotes. ex.
