Setting password for folders

regards
Dear all ,

It is possible to set password for the folder thru VB. I am
having Database folder and store all my tables in (.dbf vfoxpro
files) that folder. I want to protect the folder so that i
should not open thru windows explorer, but thru application i
want to handle the database file(such as
adding, deleting, modifying records). I am working in windows 2000 environ. My front end is VB backend is visual foxpro 6.0.

Thanks,
Wink Regards

Hi, there's nothing in windows that really allows you to do that.

However, what you can do is limit the folder access to a certain user only, then have the program run as that user to run. Note thought than any administrator accounts will also have access.

I've never used FoxPro but can't you set passwords for the database files individually? That sounds like a better idea.
