Hi guys, I'm having a big problem with one of my cars... my girl had an accident with it, and since the car went out from repairing shop, it ventilates hot air to the inside of the car, I even have the feeling of a little smoke filtration in the interior, that thing is nasty... and the damn car held a very anoying temperature in the inside.
Can anyone tell what could I do?, besides of liting a fire on my mechanic's workshop accidentally to be a little more calmed...
How is this your mechanics fault?
Keep an eye on your antifreeze/coolant level.
And, look for dampness in the passengers floorboard.
It may be your heater core that needs replaced.
If it was a major accident, or one that had front-end damage, (and the mechanic was paid to fix ALL problems with it), you should definitely take it back and complain. (And make sure the mechanic experiences the hot air) Also, if you are paying for it via an insurance company, you can complain to them.
It is quite likely an honest mistake, caused by the mechanic thinking everything was fixed when there was still a thing or two wrong. After getting a car back from the shop like that, you should be sure to inspect the vehicle as thoroughly as you can, and take it for a test drive in which you test out every feature that could conceivably be broken.
As for what's actually wrong, either a hole in the firewall somewhere or something wrong with the A/C. If it still blows hot air when the A/C is off, then it must be a hole (crack or tear) in the firewall (or possibly the front part of the floorboard). The mechanic would probably greatly apreciate it if you could pinpoint as best as you can exactly where the air is coming from.
Definitely go back and let the mechanic know. It may be something as simple as a seal not installed correctly.
Any good mechanic would be happy to check it out and fix the problem.
