Problem with apache at home _PLS HELP!!!!

animassacre
My server from time to time begins to send the images of the site very very very slow (not posible to load the page even for 20mins).
Those small thumbnails on the frontpage are loading for a minute each.
This condition starts randomly and stops randomly -it mey last for 10 min ,or it mey stay like this for hours Sad .
And more over -restarting the server doesn't help.
And the task manager shows that the processor is not loaded at all.

My site: http://animeshots.org/
Hare some info: http://animeshots.org/phpinfo
Some more info: http://animeshots.org/server-info
The present status: http://animeshots.org/server-status

PS: The site is not loaded at all , so the problem can't be the load. And I'm testing it localy(it the same even at 127.0.0.1) so it's not the connection too.

I don't know much but for one, check the apache logs. You might find something useful.

if windows server:

try defragmenting the hard drive
this is common on windows servers because the rw times for a windows server can be rather high after a while

a monthly defrag is good

if linux server:

google up on hdparam and use that, and maybe check your filesystem for problems. it might have to optimize

Diskeeper FTW! Smile

Uhm ive never had this problem with apache before, although..... well ive had a similar problem... it was on windows about a year ago, apache would sometimes randomly start using high cpu usage and commit charge for some reason or another, and i never managed to figure out why, maybe i was refreshing way too often when testing some scripts , or maybe it was when i was trying to program a text based browser, and i accidentaly made it stick in a loop and it connected to the server continously.. lol but it did it a few other times than that, when i wasnt doing anything.. well i was playing WoW. But i would say, clean your system out as much as you can, defrag, do a ram clean ,scan for virus' spyware and such. Maybe its the content your trying to load?

ooll... i forgot to say it is a Windows XP server , but i guess it could be deducted from the phpinfo

Ok 10x for the advice i will defrag the hard , though i'm sceptic
about this Smile
