The new Bin Laden video

Da Rossa
Hi folks!
I'm not giving any direct links for his last appearance in an online video, google it if you haven't seen it on the news, let's just talk a lil about it.

1- Osama's beard: very different from the whitened one that he used to show off. From that video quality, it's very hard to identify a single person in the whole Arabic community, in which many people bear resemblance to each other due to the beard.

2- Acording to the news, US experts had verifyed that the person is indeed himself and the footage is really new, since he mentioned Nicolas Sarkozy after ellected in France. This is against what I stated in #1, so I think that the Americans want everyone to think that this tape is genuine. It's not, in my opinion, what about yours?

3- It's also been stated that Osama would not have made any threats to America, but instead invited them to convert themselves to the Islam. This is ludacris. Bin Laden, an allegedly intelligent man, wouldn't do it with his religion because it would be seen as a bad publicity to the Islam: his persona is stated as the "devil" for many US and western world citizens, he wouldn't let their emotions interfere in such a decision, that would be convert to the Islam, which would be associated to a monstruous entity.

americans seem bored to me... they wanna strike another country soon..
They are saying that Bin Laden is possibly in some major city in Pakistan. Given the political situation in Pakistan and the possible stepping down of Musharraf - a US puppet, I wouldn't be suprised if some sort of aggressive policy is enacted over Pakistan.

Also on the videos: they all paint a different picture of Bin Laden. Dunno who is telling the truth. Funny how quality of some videos make it difficult to make out the persons face let alone if its Bin Laden or not. The assuption that he has a beard thus is Bin Laden, does not exactly portray the person any better.

So, it seems you are working towards a kind of a conclusion there... That the video is a US hoax?
If so, why would they want to remind everyone of their failure to capture Bin Laden?
Also, I've always wondered how these people manage to publicize such videos without it ever being able to be traced back to them, or at least close to them.

Yes, the video is a hoax. Why? Let's start with this: Why weren't the US be able to capture Bin Laden until now? The Americans have whole technological parafernalia and the qualified personnel to track him down. It appears that the US doesn't want Bin Laden captured; if he would, then it would end the fear atmosphere that lies on the American people too. And this cloud of fear is important to them: allows the government to justify actions that were unthinkable in a near past.

This is exactly the point: every time he appears in a video he's different. What would be nice if the people just stopped thinking that the things happened like the "official" report says and keep their mind open for the other possibility, because no one is qualified to tell the truth.

Actually, using biometrics, it would be pretty easy to determine if it's the same person in each of the videos. Anyone could check. You just find the ratios between facial features that don't change - for example find the ratio of the width of his nose to the distance between his eyes. Find two or three such ratios for fixed features and if they are the same in all the videos, then there is a high probability that it's the same man. Facial hair can change, expressions, tans, wrinkles, even how fat or thin his face is can all change, but those ratios don't change, and are unique for each individual. You have to use ratios because straight measurements won't work due to camera distance and resolution differences between videos.

Now, you can make sure it's the same man in every video, but whether or not it's Bin Laden himself would be harder to determine unless you had access to a picture that you were 100% certain was him.
