How does facebook do those forms?

How is it that facebook forms are so dynamic? Is it a form of javascript?

What I am talking about is like how you can start typing in someones name, and a drop-down list appears below for you to chose from. Then when you do choose one, while staying on the same page that name is added to a list right above the form. Noticed this yesterday while adding a video and was drooling lol.

updated: researching more it seems to be some sort of AJAX app. yay for wikipedia Smile

Its just advanced javascript dom manipulation. The ajax is used to fetch the usernames.
