can anyone tell me a name of a software which can rip video from a VCd and save it as .mpg or .avi files?

Ripping From VCD...
VCD generally has got the movie file in mpg format but the name of file as avseq01.dat...in the folder mpegav/
Just copy that file and change the extension of the file from .DAT to .mpg.. that's it.. VCD was ripped..
To convert into .avi file...
I would recommend this software called DVDX.. (http://sourceforge.net/projects/dvdx/)
