Homocide Crime detection: How will it be in the Future???

yagnyavalkya
Hi all
Here again I am back with a series of posts on the future of many things
Actually one of the replies in my precious post on the Future of the Internet I was called a nerd
I guess that is a compliment!
Here go's
In future ( long term may be 50 years from now) All human births will be monitored ( as a part of health care ( not a big brother scenario like in 1984) Al the babies will be implanted with a high capacity storage nano chips with probably million terabytes storage space and capability to record all the sensory inputs . This would mean that nobody can kill a person with out being recorded performing the act. All what is heard and viewed by the victim is continuously transmuted to a central server and that way Homicide management is a song.
Sounds a bit crazy but I guess it is possible

Privacy defenders will fight against that.

Yeah. It would invade on one's privacy. And, criminals will find a way to defy it.

It wouldn't be that hard to do. Wear a damn mask. -_-

i agree that it will be extremely unlikely that this will ever become mandatory. More likely it will be a private choice. A person will have themselves implanted (or a child will be implanted by their parents), and their sensory information will be recorded on a private server. That person may say in their will that in the event of suspicious death, the relevant records can be sent to the authorities. Or they may sign on with a monitoring company that gets alerted in certain situations (say, when panic is detected), rather like OnStar in cars.

Mind you, if it becomes common knowledge that even 5% of the population has this system in place, the crime rate should drop drastically.

I don't see the value of this. By the time we are doing that there is no reason we shouldn't be doing genetic screenings of babies. There are certain traits that make people more likely to commit violent crimes and I bet there is a genetic reason for these traits. Then, if all sensory input can be recorded on a microchip there is no reason we cannot live sort of like the matrix in which case it would be impossible for someone to kill you (there is no reason they should make you feel pain in the virtual world or have a heart that stops or whatever. By that points, they should also be able to put you in a state of death and then revive you or whatever. I mean like cryogenically freezing you but less drastic. See, I believe pretty soon the technology will be available for people to live for hundreds of years. That same technology could probably bring people back from near death or whatever.

Sorry that was crappily formatted
