DVD - AVI converter...?

I wannah to convert the DVD files .VOB to .AVI and also I have to compress these files for saving the disk storage also.

Please suggest me which one will be easy, relaible and most popular ?

Hope this will not avoid any Forum rules...

Nowadays, the most of the freewares are open sourced..

Source Forge is the place, where you can find almost any software free of cost.. and also there is no concept of piracy in it..

Some days back.. I tried this software called DVDX... it works good.. and fine..

It is legal to have a copy of a dvd movie you have bought but it it is illegal to share it...

The programs I would recommend to you the programs by the name of 'Auto gordian knott (AGK)' and 'DVD decryptor'

Use DVD decyptor to extract the .vob stuff (might not need this prog) and use AGK to accomplish exactly what you want. It will convert these files into 700MB .avi files (any size really)

Yes that is a good program. I use it along with DVD Decryptor http://www.mrbass.org/dvdrip/

You may have to google some guides on doing it, but basically, you rip in IFO mode (dvd decryptor) and use the .ifo file in autogk to create your .avi.
