USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION!

seriously, this is the second topic i've seen today about this, when there's already one here from weeks ago! oh and by the way, you just put in the same link twice... Confused

go to search, type in favicon and you will see that exactly the same site has been talked about already. Please search in future.

Or you can just use this script
Quote:
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="../favicon.gif">

For Example this script is even used by Frihost
Quote:
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="../images/favicon.gif">

P.S You can use JPG, PNG and GIF image filetypes for you icon, or if you have an icon editor (Personally if you want profesional XP icons then I would suggest 'Axialis IconWorkshop Version 5.1' although it does cost money (There are also freeware versions of icon editors there to download) and save the image wher ever so long as the image is linked in the right directory in the script, but if you do have an Icon editor then just save the file to

../favicon.ico
../../favicon.png/jpg/gif

(but I would suggest also using the script as well just to make sure).

I tried this and it doesn't work as a favicon. Windows does recognize it as an icon, but it doesn't show up on the browser. Might have been a size thing, maybe it should have been a 32x32 instead of 16x16 resolution, dunno.

I then got some free software (which unfortunately I don't have in front of me right now) that did the conversion and that worked.
