Wireless Electricity : The future of power?
Everything is wireless now but of course you need a power cord for almost those everything to connect to source of power (where there are no batteries)
Scientists and researchers are now conducting research in wireless transmission of power, sound out of the world doesn't it , well so did Wrights Bros idea long ago
I am sure in at least 50 years from now there will no use for copper as power carriers all power and electricity will be be wireless and then there will be the true wireless world

Sounds kind of scary to me, I wonder what frequency the power waves would have to be. If it can be done without harm to people, then more power to them
Otherwise, it might be like being in a microwave?
If we get wireless transfer of power, I suppose it could be possible this technology could also be used in weaponry to electrocute people by wirelessly passing power/electric energy through them...
Apart from that, wireless transfer would be nice, but I can't help thinking... will weather conditions affect the transfer? things such as humidity or other?

wireless transfer power is tightly tied to the idea of centralized generation of power. Contrary to what yagnyavalkya says:
I think that in the future decades we (or our children) will see more and more localised generation of power with more and more less consuming artefacts. Also, what is the tendency right now, is the fabrication and use of increasingly bettered bateries, that can carry lots of energy and deliver it in a very efficient manner. So I think the distribution of energy will be more and more wireless, but less and less centralized.

Well, ITS ALREADY BEEN DONE!!! (gasp)
its called PHOTONIC RECEPTION! (Solar Energy.)
Tesla did a lot experiments on it.

I saw a programme on TV about how Wireless can be harmful - and some people are particularly vulnerable (for no apparent reason) and they get ill from being around them. They said in Sweden it's treated as a condition. Over in the UK it's not, lol.
Anyway, I occasionally get a little headache when I'm around our router at home, it's a Netgear one. I've tried turning it off when I'm around it and it goes, but I'm not sure if it's actually in my mind.... oh well...
But yeah, I would guess the signal would have to be pretty high to send power and short range.
This world is gonna be amazing when there are ZERO wires - and I would guess that the people would have advanced a bit to cope with the wireless signals everywhere.
